How PAYE deductions work

PAYE is the system where your employer deducts income tax from your salary each month. The amount depends on your annual income. For 2026, the first Rs 390,000 per year is tax-free. Above that, you pay 10% on the next Rs 430,000, then 15% and 20% on higher bands.

On top of PAYE, two social contributions come off your salary. CSG is 1% for social security. NSF is 1% for the National Savings Fund, but only if you earn under Rs 50,000 per month. Your employer also pays contributions on top of your gross salary, but those do not reduce your take-home pay.

Enter your gross monthly salary in the calculator to see the exact breakdown. It shows your PAYE, CSG, NSF, and the final amount hitting your bank account. The rates used match the 2026 Budget announcements.
